SACROILIAC JOINT FUSION

Sacroiliac joint fusion is a minimally invasive surgery designed to alleviate pain and instability in the sacroiliac (SI) joint. Sacroiliac joint pain typically presents as low back/buttocks pain and can sometimes cause leg pain or groin pain. A small incision is made, and a bony implant is inserted directly into the joint creating stabilization and fixation of the SI joint. Joint fusion can effectively reduce pain and instability caused by sacroiliac joint dysfunction or inflammation (sacroiliitis). This is an outpatient surgery where patients go home the same day with only a small bandage on their back. It offers quick recovery times and significant pain relief compared to traditional surgical approaches.
